Jane K. Callahan

Jane K. Callahan is an end-of-life doula, author, and graduate student in clinical mental health counseling at North Carolina Central University with a focus on thanatology. She was initially trained through the International End of Life Doula Association (INELDA) in 2018 and earned a professional certificate as an end-of-life doula from the University of Vermont's Larner College of Medicine in 2021. She also holds a proficiency badge from the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA). Jane is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). She volunteers with hospices and senior centers in her community and sits on the Board of Directors for the Funeral Consumers Alliance North Carolina.
In addition to providing educational sessions about end-of-life matters at higher education institutions in NC's Triangle area, she serves clients through her doula practice, Peaceful Crossings Durham. Jane holds a BA in communications from Fordham University and an MA in English from the University of Hawai'i.
